Chad is a land-locked nation in the Islamic heart of Africa. Like many other countries in the sub-saharan region, Chad is divided between Muslim-majority north and a Christian-majority south. Poverty is normative in Chad where around 80% of the population lives below the poverty line. Violence and all kinds of insurgencies have plagued the country since the French withdrew in 1960, and it is also surrounded by many highly volatile countries who themselves are also prone to war and violence such as Sudan and Central African Republic.

Abandoned Devotion & Spiritual Awakening:

As much of the country is a physical desert, pray that the church will not be a kind of spiritual desert. God promised in his word to “make rivers flow in the desert” and to “turn the deserts into pools of water” (Isaiah 41:18). Claim this prophetic promise over the Chadian churches. Pray the believers in Chad will give themselves to prayer, and prayer movements will be birthed in this difficult country. Pray the word of God will take central place in the Church and in the lives of individual Christians in Chad.

Great Commission Vision/100,000 New Message Bearers:

Chad has a significant Christian population that should be having a missional impact on its neighbors but that has not been the case. There is a lack of vision, lack of spiritual depth and maturity to create such an impact and lack of resources and systems to make it happen. Pray missions structures will be set up in the Chadian Church, and for a new crop of leaders to emerge in the Church who are visionary in missions. Pray that Chadian believers will have confidence in the Spirit of God, and not continue to look at themselves as being incapable or unqualified as Message Bearers to the nations.

100 Million Global Harvest:

Pray that Northern Chad which is extremely Muslim will see a surge in the number of Message Bearers living and serving among the people long-term. Chad is quite open to Message Bearers. Pray more will be called to go to Chad for long-term cross-cultural ministry. Pray for fruitful impact especially in the majority Muslim north, for a turning of Muslim hearts away from Islam to the truth in Christ Jesus. Pray that many Christians from the south will be burdened by the darkness that holds sway in the North and will become stirred up by love and compassion to go and live among the northern peoples in order to be a witness to them.
