This is by far the world’s largest Muslim country in the world. With a population of more than 230 million, over 80% is Muslim. Indonesia is a ethnically and racially diverse country. There is official tolerance for the gospel and Christianity, but a heavy cultural resistance to it. Democracy has significantly made progress in Indonesia as demonstrated in the recently concluded presidential elections. The Church has been making giant strides in this country for many years, and God seems to be doing some amazing things there.

Abandoned Devotion & Spiritual Awakening:

Much eagerness can often be found among Indonesia’s 16% Christian population. Pray that they will cultivate the Mary lifestyle of sitting and learning at the feet of Jesus and just enjoying being with Him and abiding in Him (Mark 3:13, John 15:4, Luke 10:40-42). The Church in Indonesia seems to have caught the fires of prayer (strong prayer movements exists throughout the country) but the need remains of greater depths in God’s word. Pray for a commitment to studying, teaching and obeying the word of God in the Indonesian church.

Great Commission Vision/100,000 New Message Bearers:

A burgeoning missions vision is arising in the Indonesian church. However, much more is needed. The idea of missions often begins and stays within the leadership and often fails to permeate down to the grassroots. Pray Indonesia’s missions vision will be a grassroots one where the whole church is understanding and engaging with the Great Commission. Indonesia has enough manpower and other resources to actively play an important role in reaching South-East Asia, the rest of Asia and other unreached parts of the world. Pray Indonesia will arise from her slumber and step into her destiny as a missions force in the region and globally. Pray for a vision of the unreached among the university students and younger generation too.

100 Million Global Harvest:

Thank God for the relatively open door and hearts in Indonesia. Pray these opportunities and open doors will be met by anointed, passionate and Spirit-empowered Message Bearers sharing a culturally relevant gospel. Pray against satanic forces in Islam’s biggest country working to hinder the witness of the gospel. Call forth a mighty harvest of souls in Indonesia in Jesus Name. Many Indonesians are increasingly becoming non-religious (a trend growing at 7% annually) which seem to be partly as a result of lack of satisfaction with Islam. Pray this dissatisfaction will draw millions to faith in Christ.
