Mali is a West African country. It is one of those few countries with an extremely high Muslim population (more than 80%) that guarantees openness and freedom to Christians as a secular state. Its democracy has been truncated by coups and weakened by insurgencies and terrorism. It is one of the world’s poorest countries and the economy is mostly driven by subsistence farming. Islam is stronger in the north, while Christianity is more firmly rooted in the south.

Abandoned Devotion & Spiritual Awakening:

Around 3% of Malians consider themselves Christians. This small church in Mali which enjoys freedom is also growing. Pray for spiritual hunger to mark these believers, a hunger that would deepen their level of commitment to God’s word and to prayer. Ask God to establish the new believers who are coming to faith regularly in Mali, and pray for authentic biblical discipleship to take root in the Church in Mali. Pray against every form of nominalism and superficial Christianity. Pray Malian Christians will be disciples who love the lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength (Luke 10:27).

Great Commission Vision/100,000 New Message Bearers:

Many barriers hinder the church in Mali from catching a missions vision and engaging with God’s heart for the unreached in the Great Commission. Pray against this plethora of barriers; pray that they will overcome every one of these barriers which include: poverty, a gross misunderstanding of missions as “white men coming to Mali…” fear of the unknown future, feelings of personal inadequacy and inferiority, poor or lack of training, and many more. Pray for a new generation of Malians who are filled with the Spirit, overflowing with love and passion, and possessing a deep vision of global harvest, and will give their lives for long-term cross-cultural missions among the unreached in and outside Mali.

100 Million Global Harvest:

Ask God for a massive harvest among Mali’s unreached people groups. Pray for more laborers to be raised and sent to live and demonstrate the love and message of Jesus Christ among them. Pray and bless the work of all Message Bearers who are already on the ground. Pray for fruitfulness as these men and women sacrificially labor among the Malian peoples. Let a church planting movement be established in Mali, planting hundreds and even thousands of reproducible churches across the land.
