Pakistan is officially an Islamic republic and now has large parts of its territory under Islamic extremists – Taliban control. It is a country that struggles with the problem of poverty, with more than 20% living below the poverty line. With Muslims making up at least 95% of the entire population of more than 180 million, Pakistan is the second largest Islamic country in the world and is located at the heart of the unevangelized Muslim world and has one of the greatest Muslim concentrations in the world outside of Saudi Arabia.

Abandoned Devotion & Spiritual Awakening:

The Pakistani church (comprising around 2.5% of the population) is in desperate need for an awakening. There has been hardly any record of revival in this nation. Cry out to God for the latter rain of revival to be poured out upon Pakistani believers. Pray they will experience a new move of God by His Spirit. Pray for boldness, courage and perseverance to press on in spite of the oppression, persecution, discrimination and contempt they live with as a daily reality. Pray for unity among believers and leaders. Pray also they will be a people committed to God’s word both as individuals and congregation of believers (Josh 1:8, Ezra 7:10).

Great Commission Vision/100,000 New Message Bearers:

Missions vision is almost non-existent. Pray Pakistani believers would rediscover the Great Commission and that they will understand the heartbeat of God for all nations and not be concerned only about themselves but begin to reach out far and wide. Pray they will overcome obstacles like poverty, lack of visionary leadership and so on. Pray they will not just see missions as something there are the recipients of, but as God’s agenda in which they also have a significant role to play. Pray for hundreds and even thousands of Pakistani Christians to be raised, trained and sent out to the unreached nations around them and other parts of the world. Pray deep spiritual quality will mark these generations of Message Bearers that will come out of Pakistan.

100 Million Global Harvest:

Hundreds of people groups in Pakistan are considered totally unreached, and many of them are unengaged. Pray many more churches and ministries will focus on Pakistan’s unreached peoples and more Message Bearers will be raised and sent to Pakistan where it is still fairly easy to gain entrance (a window of opportunity that seems to be shutting down quickly). Pray for the effectiveness of ongoing outreach to Pakistani by Message Bearers on the ground and satellite programs as well as other dedicated means of reaching out to Pakistanis. Pray for the huge diaspora Pakistani community to encounter the love and gospel of Christ in the many places where they have emigrated too, and that many will bring back to their country this new found faith and extend it to family members and friends too.
